Choose Ghost Inspector if…
- You need a lot of runs for the money: 10,000 runs a month from $109, or 100,000 from $449 (billed annually).
- You want 5 seats on the entry plan, six months of results, runs from 18 regions, accessibility checks or SOC 2 compliance.
- Your team is happy to record tests with a browser extension and look after the CSS selectors, or you already have a library of Ghost Inspector tests.
Choose DontBreak if…
- You'd rather steps follow what's on screen: a renamed class or a moved wrapper doesn't affect a step that finds its element by how it looks.
- You check signup or password-reset emails and want that on the entry plan, with inbox addresses only your team knows.

Questions
- Is there a free Ghost Inspector alternative?
- Not a like-for-like one. Neither DontBreak nor Ghost Inspector has a free plan, and both offer a 14-day trial without a card. BugBug has a free plan whose tests run on your own computer, and Playwright is free if someone on your team writes code.
- Can I move my Ghost Inspector tests to DontBreak?
- There's no importer. You rebuild each flow in the DontBreak editor, which usually takes a few minutes per flow, and on the free setup call we can build the first ones with you.
- Does either one run tests in Safari?
- No. Both run Chrome and Firefox. Ghost Inspector says Safari and Edge are being explored; DontBreak has no timeline for Safari either.
- Ghost Inspector or Playwright?
- Ghost Inspector and DontBreak are for teams that don't want to write test code. Playwright is a free framework for engineers who do. DontBreak runs on Playwright under the hood and can export a test as a Playwright script.
